Hi! I’m Rebecca Anne Coburn. Most people call me Becca, but you can call me just about anything as long as you don’t call me late for dinner. I’m a highschool senior, but I dual-enroll in several classes at the local college. It’s a little weird, being at least a year or two younger than all the other people in those classes, but I deal with it.
Besides being a student, I have a part-time job at a craft supply store. I usually enjoy it- well, working the register isn’t my favorite thing in the world, but the rest isn’t too bad. I especially like doing the craft demos. I mean, I get paid to play around with some craft for an hour or two and teach anyone who shows up how to do it. Yeah. Pretty awesome. The best part of my job, though, is definitely the employee discount. As an avid knitter and a dabbler in various other crafts- knitting, jewelry making, and latchhook chief among them- I find myself buying new supplies at least once a month.
Knowing that I’m into crafts, you might be surprised by my other major hobby: shooting. Don’t get the wrong idea; I’m not a gun nut. But I’ve been shooting since I was eight and my dad showed me how to use his old BB rifle. After almost ten years, I’m a pretty good markswoman. I like rifles best, but pistols are cool too as long as they don’t have a ginormous kick. I’m hoping to get my concealed carry permit as soon as I turn 21; we’ll see how that works out.
Quick facts time! My favorite color is blue, though gold’s pretty nice too. My birthday is August 23. I have one younger sister and two cats, all three of whom like playing with yarn as much as I do. (My sister crochets; the cats just make knots for me to untangle.) I’m a Christian, and besides going to church on Sundays, I’ve also attended Awana for most of my life. I have a weakness for chocolate and cheesecake, and if you put them together . . . mmm, heaven. Oh, and one more thing: I have superpowers: healing and time manipulation to be exact.
How’d I end up with powers? Great question. Unfortunately, I don’t know the answer. All I know is that I recover from injuries ridiculously fast- once I broke my leg falling down the stairs and I was fine a few hours later- and I can heal other people’s injuries too. I can also make time speed up or slow down within a certain radius, which comes in handy when I have a lot of schoolwork to do and need extra time, or when I’m starving while waiting for my food at a restaurant.
However I got my powers, though, I hope to use them in a worthwhile way, not just for making my own life easier.
Hey, I think this needs to be moved under the character bio tab. 😀

Oops. Thanks for pointing that out.

It took me a while to figure it out, too… 😛

[in character] We should start a conspiracy to get Grant to move back to the US. *winks*

[in character] Good idea. What do you think it would take to lure him back?

Hm. I’m pretty sure if I tell him when you get kidnapped, he’ll come back, and then if we tell him about our powers, he will most definitely stay here in an attempt to “protect” us. He’d also come back if one of us got hurt. Again, maybe not permanently.

We should probably tell him about our powers eventually anyway . . . though him coming back to stay would be awesome.

Mm, I don’t know, he might not understand. But he would definitely come back. We could always kidnap him. 😛

He’ll find out eventually. Hmm . . . kidnapping him might be fun . . . but might also send the wrong message.

But since he would think we were having mental problems, it would encourage him to stick around. *wink*

Pff. I don’t know about you, but if he finds out I have powers, I’m going to make sure he knows it’s an actual thing. Starlight can say what she likes about staying under the radar- I don’t want him thinking I’m crazy. *sighs* Even if it would get him to stay . . .

Hopefully he never gets in a car accident and you heal him, that would be a weird way to reveal your powers. (Out of character: We should totally do that. As a Fun Things post. 😀 )

*shrugs* I don’t know that it would be a weird way. More like a not-fun way. A weird way would be if he walked into one of my time bubbles- I’m told it’s really disorienting for the other person. (OOC: Ooh. Yes. We should!)

If I ran into one of your time bubbles, I’d probably teleport halfway across the world.

*grins* No, really?

My panic teleporting comes in handy sometimes. Like when I went on a walk in the middle of the night and nearly walked into someone’s backyard… and they had a very angry dog.

Ohhhhh no. I can definitely see why teleporting would be useful then.

Definitely. Instinct is there for a reason.
